Altho not all computers, laptops, and tablets come with <strong>Trusted Platform Module (TPM)<\/strong>, which can be a problem, especially if you need version 2.0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a tweet from Shen Ye, Senior Director, Global Head of HTC Hardware Products, the price of <strong>TPM 2.0<\/strong> has quadrupled, so while Windows 11 isn&#8217;t officially available yet, Microsoft has it legitimate, and the name is security. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/shen\/status\/1408284995131645956\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Securing devices with Infineon industrial grade TPM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.infineon.com\/cms\/en\/product\/security-smart-card-solutions\/optiga-embedded-security-solutions\/optiga-tpm\/slm-9670\/\">Infineon Technologies AG<\/a><\/strong> has unveiled a new security chip that defines the first <strong>TPM (Trusted Platform Module)<\/strong>, designed specifically for industrial applications such as industrial computers, servers, industrial controllers and edge gates. The module protects confidential data in connected devices and reduces the risk of leakage of this information due to attacks, e.g. hackers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/iot-industrial-devices.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/tpm_slm_9670-1030x431.jpg\" alt=\"IoT Security with latest SLM 9670 Industrial Grade TPM 2.0\" class=\"wp-image-6026\"\/><figcaption>Source:  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avnet.com\/wps\/portal\/silica\/products\/product-highlights\/2019\/infineon-optiga-tpm-slm-9670\/\">https:\/\/www.avnet.com\/wps\/portal\/silica\/products\/product-highlights\/2019\/infineon-optiga-tpm-slm-9670\/<\/a> <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>OPTIGA TPM SLM 9670<\/strong> module protects the integrity of industrial systems and the identity of users using them. The system controls access to sensitive data at key locations in industrial environments, such as an automated factory. It also protects the cloud interface if the network uses one. The security system fully meets the <strong>TPM 2.0<\/strong> standard developed by the <strong>Trusted Computing Group<\/strong> and is certified by an independent test laboratory in accordance with the criteria contained in this standard. The new module is meticulously controlled and certified by Infineon. Thanks to its use, it is possible to shorten the time of designing and introducing the device to the market, thanks to the ready security solution in the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>TPM system<\/strong> has a <strong>lifetime declared as 20 years<\/strong>. It allows programmers to perform firmware updates, which in turn enables them to meet the long-term security requirements in <strong>rapidly changing industrial environments<\/strong>. In this way, it can also reduce maintenance costs of industrial equipment thanks to secured remote software updates.
